Polk State soccer lost 5-1 to Broward College tonight in Pembroke Pines in the first round of the NJCAA District\/FCSAA State Soccer Tournament.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead on Cassandra Bernardo\u2019s goal in the 33rd<\/sup> minute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second half, however, Broward tied it with a goal in the 48th<\/sup> minute and made it 2-1 with a goal in the 49th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seahawks went on to score three more times, twice on penalty kicks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eagles took 10 shots, with four by Samantha Gutierrex, two each by Masja Hoogendoorn and Xiomara Lewis-Ruggiano, and solo efforts by Bernardo and Daniela Ramos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goalkeeper Celeste Chiles made four saves in the first half and seven in the second. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seahawks took 13 shots and had five saves.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
