<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nIn South Carolina, Ron DeSantis heard and rejected an interesting suggestion for his running mate in the event he\u2019s the Republican Presidential nominee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On Saturday in Myrtle Beach, a supporter from the Sunshine State floated Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd as a potential Vice President.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DeSantis called Judd, an ally who has appeared with him at numerous press conferences over the last five years, a \u201cgreat guy,\u201d but noted that since he\u2019s from \u201cthe same state\u201d he couldn\u2019t run on the same ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nBeyond that, DeSantis called VP speculation \u201cpresumptuous\u201d given the state of the race for the GOP nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI mean, you know, I\u2019ve got eight delegates. Donald Trump\u2019s got 20,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cYou gotta get there, and so I focus on that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond ruling out the unlikely prospect of a county sheriff being one heartbeat away from the presidency, DeSantis offered more familiar language regarding a potential running mate.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cSo I want somebody that\u2019s going to be true to conservative principles. I want somebody that\u2019s going to be true to our vision. And if we, if we do that, then you\u2019ll have somebody that\u2019s good.
