Ross, a retired U.S. Congressman and political science professor at Southeastern University (SEU), published his autobiography, \u201cReaching Across the Aisle: Reflections on My Experiences in Politics\u201d on January 16, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"204\" height=\"182\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Dennis-A.-Ross-a-retired-U.S.-Congressman.jpeg?resize=204%2C182&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41241\" style=\"width:340px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ross shares his journey into politics, from running his future wife\u2019s campaign for class president in high school to being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for four consecutive terms.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He discusses his observations on the political divide and offers solutions based on his experiences working with members of differing parties. Ross also shares his unique experiences in politics, including flying on Air Force One with former President Donald J. Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ross was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida. He retired from Congress in 2019 and became the director of the American Center for Public Leadership (ACPL) at SEU in Lakeland, Florida, where he also serves as a distinguished professor of political science.
