{"id":41607,"date":"2024-02-02T14:10:20","date_gmt":"2024-02-02T19:10:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=41607"},"modified":"2024-02-02T14:10:31","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T19:10:31","slug":"fdle-report-sheds-new-light-on-controversial-lakeland-arrest-of-antwan-glover","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2024\/02\/02\/fdle-report-sheds-new-light-on-controversial-lakeland-arrest-of-antwan-glover\/","title":{"rendered":"FDLE report sheds new light on controversial Lakeland arrest of Antwan Glover"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Between January and June of 2023, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) worked to determine if a controversial arrest by Lakeland Police was conducted properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This all started after a December 2022 traffic stop for a seat belt violation led a man named Antwan Glover to be tased and taken into custody by Lakeland PD.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"719\" height=\"348\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot-5-1.png?resize=719%2C348&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-33551\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot-5-1.png?w=719&amp;ssl=1 719w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Screenshot-5-1.png?resize=300%2C145&amp;ssl=1 300w\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Antwan Glover\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was initially charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s an incident that Glover said in a recent Instagram post is still taking a toll more than a year later<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;It really did something to me mentally,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A newly released report is shedding light on the investigation that has ultimately cleared the arresting officers\u2014Jason McCain, Anton Jefferson, and Dillon Cornn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since his arrest, Glover has disputed police reports that he had marijuana on him illegally and that he resisted arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1280\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 720 \/ 1280;\" width=\"720\" controls src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/321443080_132742066301891_5810382766530723676_n.mp4\"><\/video><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I&#8217;m telling you I have my medical marijuana license, sir. What is going on here? Why am I on the ground? Why am I getting punched? What is going on? I have my license, both of them.
