According to Publix’s website<\/a>, it is the “largest employee-owned company in the United States.” It employs over 250,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publix currently has around 850 stores in Florida, so it makes sense that the company has nine grocery distribution centers, and eleven manufacturing facilities, according to its LinkedIn<\/a> page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manufacturing facilities reportedly produce<\/a> the grocer’s deli, bakery, dairy, and other food products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And now, a new facility will produce some of Publix’s pharmacy items. And it is opening in Florida and bringing jobs with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About The New “Central Fill Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility:” According to The Jacksonville Business Journal reporting in late January of 2024, Publix received $5.8 million in incentives from St. John’s County while Publix made a $27.75 million investment for commercial property at 200 Accolade Avenue (and is reportedly expected to make a total investment of around about $145 million.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publix reportedly expects to build a 168,000-square-foot warehouse that will fill about 500,000 prescriptions per week upon opening, with the ability to eventually fill up to 1 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility could bring as many as 400<\/a> jobs over 9 years and the company expects to occupy it and begin production in the second quarter of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Publix has been named as one of the best “in-state employer” by Forbes<\/a>. Employees who work for Publix give it 3.8 out of 5 stars on Glass Door, with some employees noting that the company offers “good benefits and stock options.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
