Just look at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thejoinerylkld.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Joinery<\/a>, which opened in Lakeland in 2020, and Winter Haven\u2019s upcoming&nbsp;Bowen Yard development. Polk County\u2019s next food hall is ~20 minutes from downtown Lakeland. Meet&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/straughntrout.com\/project\/the-depot-303\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Depot 303<\/a>, a new development under construction at 303 NW 1st Ave. in downtown Mulberry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project was first announced in 2022, and construction is slated to wrap up in April. The project is a partnership between the City of Mulberry and Lakeland companies Rodda Construction and Straughn Trout Architects, who shared the latest renderings of how the completed space will look.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/download-1.webp?resize=1000%2C563&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41641\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s what you can expect, by the numbers:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>14,000 sqft (compared to 12,000 sqft at The Joinery)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Space for seven food vendors, plus a bar, that will share a commercial kitchen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indoor and outdoor seating for 280+ visitors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfdc.org\/city-of-mulberry-is-becoming-a-destination-and-the-depot-303-will-add-to-its-attraction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$3-4 million price tag<\/a>, paid by the Mulberry Community Redevelopment Agency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><\/a>The Depot 303\u2019s design will be inspired by the city\u2019s roots in the railroad and phosphate mining industries.&nbsp;Even its name is a nod to former train depots.&nbsp;Expect to see railroad signage and subtle design elements throughout the space.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/download-2.webp?resize=1000%2C563&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-41642\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, why is this food hall coming to Mulberry?&nbsp;Like Lakeland, the small city is currently experiencing rapid growth with its population&nbsp;expanding by 25%&nbsp;over the past five years.
