Unfortunately, one third-party Company in this genre is indicating that it intends to lay off hundreds of employees due to not being re-contracted by a Florida municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About MV Transportation: According to the company’s website, it is the “largest privately-owned passenger transportation contracting \ufb01rm in the United States<\/a>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company indicates that it partners with over 200<\/a> government agencies, universities, schools, and businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees give MV Transportation 3<\/a> out of 5 stars on Indeed. Some said working for MV Transportation offered the opportunity to learn new things, but one person said that the company was “micro-managed<\/a>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Layoffs: According to two separate Warn letters<\/a> dated March 1, 2024, the company indicated that its contract with Palm Tran Connection expires on April 30, 2024. Also according to the letter, the Palm Beach Board of Commissions has not approved a new contract<\/a> for any provider beyond April 30, 2024. Therefore, the company has “no choice<\/a>” but to conduct layoffs for West Palm Beach and Belle Glade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total number of employees between both locations is around 218 total and examples of the job titles<\/a> affected are drivers, supervisors, managers, clerks, and dispatchers, to name a few examples.
