Florida is witnessing a new wave of massive layoffs as several businesses have filed WARN notices, indicating imminent job cuts. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act <\/a>mandates that employers with over 100 full-time workers must provide a 60-day notice before laying off 50 or more people at a single site.<\/p>\n\n\n

This past week alone has seen three new businesses in Florida announcing mass layoffs. ADT Solar is set to cut 45 jobs, while MV Transportation plans to eliminate 218 positions across its South Bay and West Palm Beach locations. So far, in 2024, Florida has experienced 2,033 layoffs across 28 businesses,<\/a> according to the latest WARN data. Despite this, California remains the state with the highest number of job cuts this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upcoming Layoffs in Florida<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several other businesses in Florida<\/a> have also announced upcoming layoffs. Anuvu Operations, LLC’s Maritime, Energy, and Government business will see 135 job cuts by April 20. OBXtek will reduce its workforce by 57 by April 21, and LATAM Global Security Services will lay off 166 employees by April 14. Other companies such as Alto Operations Florida LLC, Fence Outlet MDC, LLC, and Coca Cola are also planning significant job reductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list continues with BioDerm, Inc., Corsair Gaming, Inc., Fathom Manufacturing, LLC., and Fanatics, LLC., all announcing layoffs in the coming months. West Fraser, Inc. and Percepta are also among the companies reducing their workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
