A 42-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to rob a Polk County bank Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Lake Wales Police Department said shortly after 11 a.m., Dennis T. Davis, 42, of Sebring, entered the Bank of America, located at 1100 E Hwy 60, and indicated to a bank teller that he had a firearm in his jacket pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Davis demanded and received money from the teller, he ran away with an unknown amount of cash, police said.<\/p>\n\n\n

Following the robbery, a Lake Wales Police K-9 tracked Davis to a CVS, which is located across the street from the Bank of America. The K-9 team found Davis hiding in \u201cthick vegetation\u201d on Palmetto Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Witnesses positively identified Davis as the suspect, and he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the police department, Davis did not have a gun in his possession when he was arrested. No one was injured during the robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 42-year-old is being charged with armed robbery and will be booked into the Polk County Jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
