<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nKevin Dewayne Mitchell, 51, was observed by Detective Michael Jeffries driving a golf cart around the intersection of Maxwell Drive and U.S. 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeffries wrote in the arrest report he knew Mitchell was a \u201cwanted subject\u201d so he contacted the defendant as he operated the golf cart on Poucher Road with the assistance of Detective Shane Wardion to lean on Obama could go wrong<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mitchell had an outstanding Polk County felony warrant for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug equipment, Jeffries wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jeffries said he found a suspended Florida driver\u2019s license in Mitchell\u2019s wallet, noting it was suspended in January and the defendant has three prior guilty convictions for driving while his license was suspended or revoked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAlso, on the front seat of the golf cart was a vape device with a liquid cartridge which read \u201ccannabis\u201d on the front, which later tested a presumptive positive result for THC above .3%,\u201d Jeffries wrote in the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mitchell was arrested by Jeffries and charged with third-degree felonies for driving while license was suspended or revoked and possession of a controlled substance in addition to misdemeanor charges of having a suspended or revoked driver\u2019s license and possession of drug paraphernalia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was originally jailed without bond on the new charges due to the Polk County warrant until a first appearance hearing, where his bond was set at $25,000 for the four new charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of Wednesday afternoon, Mitchell had not posted bond and remains in the Hardee County Jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
