When Mazda Lakeland celebrated the grand opening of its environmentally-friendly dealership last year, its most impressive commitment to the environment was still in the works: the installation of 412 solar panels to further reduce the dealership\u2019s carbon footprint.

The solar installation is now complete and the results are in: a whopping 46.5 % decrease in energy costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rooftop solar energy system has the capacity to generate more than 311,736 kilowatt hours annually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe anticipated a cost reduction, but not in the neighborhood of fifty percent,\u201d according to Mazda Lakeland General Manager Sophia Justiz. \u201cIt definitely exceeded our expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pointing to the available vehicles on its campus Justiz added, \u201cMazda has long been a leader in protecting the environment. Our cars boast impressive miles per gallon. We\u2019re especially proud of the capabilities of the new Mazda CX-90 Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV). It\u2019s a phenomenally popular vehicle that reflects Mazda\u2019s detail-obsessed philosophy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazda Lakeland\u2019s rooftop solar project was installed by ESA, a national clean energy development corporation with a diverse portfolio that includes industrial and community projects in 22 states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTogether we\u2019re reducing costs and driving sustainability in a tangible way that resonates with modern consumers,\u201d said ESA Account Executive Anne Shirley Lewis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Orlando Classic Mazda<\/a> was also able to save on air conditioning costs after their solar investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
