Former President Donald Trump has $54,000 in property waiting for him in Florida, and all he has to do is claim it \u2013 according to a letter from Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUpon conducting a search for unclaimed property using the term TRUMP, my Division of Unclaimed Property believes their search results have revealed over $54,000 waiting to be claimed by you, your family, and your businesses or properties throughout the state of Florida,\u201d Patronis wrote in his letter to Trump.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The property is earmarked for a potential claim by Trump, a family member, or the Trump organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are some very, very nasty people coming after you, and every dollar matters in your efforts to fight back against these radical state attorneys who have weaponized the courts,\u201d Patronis said. \u201cWe need you and your team to have every resource possible to get through these BS charges so you can get back to work in Making America Great Again!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patronis told Trump that he or his team can visit the website<\/a> or contact him personally, and they would be \u201chappy to process any and all requests\u201d so his unclaimed property may be returned to him \u201cas soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unclaimed property is a \u201cfinancial asset that is unknown or lost or has been left inactive, unclaimed, or abandoned by its owner,\u201d Patronis\u2019 office said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since assuming office in 2017, Patronis has returned nearly $2.4 billion in unclaimed property to Florida citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Common types of unclaimed property include dormant bank accounts, unclaimed insurance proceeds, stocks, dividends, uncashed checks, deposits, credit card balances and refunds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, unclaimed property may include contents from abandoned safe deposit boxes in financial institutions. The asset also can be held by a business or government entity for approximately five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the holder is unable to locate or re-establish contact with the owner, the asset can be reported and remitted to the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Unclaimed Property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
