Florida Transport Company is laying off employees, including Student Transportation Of\u00a0America\u00a0and MV\u00a0Transportation. And now another – Raven Transport Holding, Inc. – will conduct layoffs.<\/p>\n\n\n

About Raven Transport Holding, Inc.: According to the company’s website, it is a transportation business that has been in business for over 23 years and operates five units<\/a> in Florida and Georgia. It possesses trucks that allow the hauling of up to 51,000 pounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the layoffs that I will discuss below, the company employed 352<\/a> drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Employees for the location in question give Raven Transport 3.3<\/a> out of 5 stars on Indeed. While some say that the environment has declined in time, others say that the work is easy and the pay is good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the company primarily focuses on the southeastern part of the United States, its website indicates that it has coverage<\/a> in 22 states and also has railway and port capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shutdowns and Layoffs: Because Raven Transport is shutting down its over-the-road and dedicated fleets, staff and drivers who worked on these fleets out of the Jacksonville facility are being laid off beginning on June 30, 2024, per a warn letter <\/a>dated April 30, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These layoffs are expected to be permanent<\/a>. The affected employees do not have bumping rights and they are not part of any union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
