Carl Medlin, 93, of Polk City was driving west on Old Polk City Road in a 1970 Ford pickup when a 2000 Sterling dump truck, traveling south on Moore Road, failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and pulled onto the road in front of Medlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 60-year-old driver of the dump truck, whom the Sheriff&#8217;s Office did not immediately identify, was not injured. But Medlin was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. He died about 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Sheriff&#8217;s Office said both drivers were wearing seat belts, but Medlin&#8217;s Ford truck was only equipped with a lap belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The intersection was closed for about four hours for the investigation, which remains ongoing.
