You may think a truck covered with Polk Sheriff\u2019s Charities symbols would not be a target for a thief, but that wasn\u2019t the case for a local nonprofit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bobby Williams is the pastor of the Freedom Church and founder of The Freedom Tour, which provides 1.2 million pounds of free food to people in need every month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, Polk Sheriff\u2019s Charities, Sheriff Grady Judd\u2019s non-profit organization, has donated two Freightliner trucks to The Freedom Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams dubbed them \u201cGrady One\u201d and \u201cGrady Two.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, he was contacted at 10:45 p.m. about Grady One being seen driving around Wahneta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI GPS both trucks and realize oh my goodness, my truck is stolen. I head out the door as fast as I can,\u201d said Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The truck is covered in Polk Sheriff\u2019s Charities emblems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWho\u2019s gonna steal a Freedom Tour truck with Polk County Sheriff association on the side, the big symbol, you see it. Who\u2019s gonna do that?\u201d asked Williams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surveillance video showed a man pulling up to the property to charge his scooter earlier in the evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSo he said to himself, \u2018Self, when my scooter\u2019s charging I think I\u2019d like to go to Wahneta, we call it the twin cities, to visit some friends\u2019,\u201d said Sheriff Grady Judd in a video posted to his social media.<\/p>\n\n\n

The man, identified as Jamie Hunt, was seen getting into the driver\u2019s seat of the truck and after a few minutes of struggle to get it in the right mode, drives off in the truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn that big box truck was $25,000 worth of cold food, some potato salad even,\u201d said Sheriff Judd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight here is actually the potato salad,\u201d said Williams, removing a container from the back of The Freedom Tour\u2019s large refrigerator truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe gets there and he unloads the truck, and he takes potato salad to these guys,\u201d Williams said. \u201cHe\u2019s got potato salad in the front of the truck, he\u2019s eating it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deputies and Williams tracked Hunt down in Wahneta and followed him as he returned to The Freedom Tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Williams said he has both business and personal ties to Hunt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBecause I knew him, to me, it was a total sign of disrespect,\u201d said Williams. \u201cFor you to know what I do for the community, know who the sheriff is, know all this stuff, willing to have the mindset to steal it, I said no, press charges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunt is now facing grand theft and burglary charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
