Art Deco was an extremely- and still is- popular design style of the 1920’s trialing into the 30’s. It has a strange feel to it, living somewhere between past and present with often geometric designs made of man-made materials, boosting bright colors that are often mixed in with black and white.

True antique thrift stores have noticed the craving for real Art Deco era pieces, and most of them have started stocking their showroom floor with pieces from the era, all of which are matched with a hefty price tag due to the demand. One woman however found the jackpot of Art Deco items at a discounted rate in Lakeland Florida as she discovered a dreamy Art Deco cabinet that cost a mere $122, check it out below!

@beercutieandfoodie IM STILL CRYING IN AWE 🥹😭 #artdeco #thrift #thriftwithme @Visit Central Florida ♬ Being a Girl – Jonica

Yup, this woman surely scored big! This dreamy soft orange with delicate brass detailed knobs was found sitting in a thrift store in Lakeland, FL… costing only $122. Its name was derived from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited. Art Deco design represented modernism turned into fashion. Its products included both individually crafted luxury items and mass-produced wares, but, in either case, the intention was to create a sleek and anti-traditional elegance that symbolized wealth and sophistication.” Reports Britannica’s definition of the term.

Bringing this style into your own space is simple so long as you understand its characters. It’s a sort of style that was not overly popular but can commonly be found throughout thrift stores just ever so sparingly.

The Art Deco era may have happened a long time ago but it is still a popular vintage look that many homeowners strive to achieve in their homes.
