{"id":47477,"date":"2024-07-08T15:33:49","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T19:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=47477"},"modified":"2024-07-08T15:33:54","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T19:33:54","slug":"lakeland-mans-trip-to-taco-bell-lands-him-in-polk-county-jail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2024\/07\/08\/lakeland-mans-trip-to-taco-bell-lands-him-in-polk-county-jail\/","title":{"rendered":"Lakeland man&#8217;s trip to Taco Bell lands him in Polk County jail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Polk County deputies say 34-year-old Marcus Jenkins of Lakeland was found asleep in the driver&#8217;s seat of his car at the Taco Bell drive-thru on Highway 92 in Lakeland. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"278\" height=\"281\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-57-8.png?resize=278%2C281&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47478\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deputies say the car was running, shifted into drive, and his foot was on the brake. \u00a0They also say he smelled of alcohol. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to DUI charges, deputies say they found cannabis and a significant amount of fentanyl in his car. \u00a0According to Florida law, Jenkins could face a minimum of 25 years in prison and a half-a-million-dollar fine for having more than 28 grams of fentanyl in his possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was Jenkins&#8217;
