Florida Ave., Lakeland: On July 11, the restaurant had four violations, three related to a malfunctioning dishwasher. One was simply for the dishwasher in disrepair (basic). One was for the dishwasher failing to mix chlorine sanitizer (high priority). The other was for the water not being at least 120 degrees (intermediate). Finally, another intermediate violation was a failure to provide proof of state-approved employee training. A warning was issued and a follow-up was required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-dominant-color=\"7a787c\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/download-1-1.jpeg?resize=259%2C194&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-47811 not-transparent\" style=\"--dominant-color: #7a787c; width:433px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/data.theledger.com\/restaurant-inspections\/polk\/international-house-of-pancakes-36-117\/sea6304007\/3654773\/\">International House of Pancakes #36-117<\/a>, at 3427 U.S. 98 N., Lakeland, had 14 violations, the most during the period. Those included 13 basic and one high priority. The high priority was for the dish machine failing to mix chlorine sanitizer, much like Winghouse above. Among the 13 basic violations, the inspector noted: an accumulation of debris on the ice machine\u2019s interior shield; debris on the exterior of the dishwasher; broken cove molding; soiled floors in dry storage, the cook line, under the dish machine and in the service station; grease on the ground near the grease receptacle; ice buildup in the walk-in freezer; a missing drain plug at the dumpster; soiled gaskets in an upright unit; an open dumpster lid; soiled shelves in a reach-in cooler on the cook line; single-serve items not stored inverted or protected from contamination; standing water in the bottom of a reach-in cooler; and an unused reach-in cooler stored on the premises. The restaurant met standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some cases, violations are noted as technical issues not directly linked to hygiene or cleanliness. Remember, too, that broken refrigerators, chipped tiles, or fast work may add up to unintended mistakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Regardless, if you notice abuses of state standards, report them and DBPR will send inspectors.
