Yacoub pleaded guilty to the charges in April 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" data-dominant-color=\"6b5246\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #6b5246;\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"489\" height=\"440\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-58-19.png?resize=489%2C440&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-48318 not-transparent\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-58-19.png?w=489&amp;ssl=1 489w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/Screenshot-58-19.png?resize=300%2C270&amp;ssl=1 300w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Court records reveal that Yacoub attempted to bypass TSA security with the firearm concealed in his backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the firearm was detected by x-ray, Yacoub removed it and hid it in a restroom trash can, later claiming to TSA agents he had no firearm. The discovery of the gun, a Glock 19 with 14 rounds of ammunition, caused the terminal to be evacuated and flights to be delayed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is Yacoub\u2019s second offense involving a firearm at a Florida airport.
