Once again, as a Polk County citizen, I am extremely disappointed as we witness the highest law enforcement official in Polk County, our Sheriff, engaging in endorsing political candidates. While not illegal, this practice is highly unethical in my opinion. <\/p>\n\n\n

To say nothing, the candidate endorsed is a liberal member of the Polk County School Board (according to\u00a0ivoter.com<\/a>\u00a0who rates officeholders and candidates for state office and county school boards), and when there is a much more qualified and conservative (by any realistic standard) individual running for that seat in Rebekah Ricks. Rebekah received the most conservative iVoter rating that one can achieve without having previously served in office.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sara Beth Wyatt is an advocate for the highly pornographic material remaining in our Polk County Schools libraries. This is just one issue of many reasons that she does not deserve another term on PCSB. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My assumption is, that since a school board race is considered “non-partisan” (joke), this is why we are seeing the endorsement today. My question is, will there be endorsements for the Polk County Commission Candidates? County Commissioners who, if elected, will have the State of Florida constitutional responsibility of approving the Polk Sheriff’s Office annual budget? This seems highly irregular to me.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have ZERO problems with other officeholders endorsing one another, but I must draw the line when it comes to candidates being endorsed by our Sheriff who has the responsibility to be above partisan politics.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please allow me to encourage you to vote for Rebekah Ricks for the Polk County School Board.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

Someone reminded me of the September 1, 2022 letter issued by our Sheriff Grady Judd offering only his moral support and some suggestions that those who were\/are fighting to end the porn that remains in Polk School Libraries to this day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that one of Sheriff Judd’s suggestions on page 2 (after he clearly states his disgust with the material in question on page 1) is that we vote out those on the School Board who do not share our values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am I to assume by his endorsement of Sara Beth Wyatt that he now shares this “value” with Sara Beth?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the kind of politics that disgusts far too few Republican voters (both current and former). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

My prayer is that God will first and foremost convict our hearts to passionately desire His truth and be willing to stand for it in the public square and even in the secret places of our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
