Do you ever multitask while driving? Taking a call or adjusting the radio is one thing, but a Florida woman took it to a whole new level when she attempted to shave her nether regions while driving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if this story wasn\u2019t \u201cFlorida\u201d enough, Megan Barnes was prepping to visit her boyfriend en route to Key West\u2014so she shaved while her ex-husband (riding shotgun) attempted to steer. Despite their \u201crazor sharp focus,\u201d the stunt didn\u2019t go as planned. Distracted by personal grooming, the team rear-ended another vehicle. The result has to be one of the most bizarre driving incidents in history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, Barnes and company were driving her Thunderbird at about 45 mph through Cudjoe Key when her grooming efforts took her attention away from the road. The vehicle ahead of her\u2014a Chevrolet SUV\u2014slowed down to make a turn. The preoccupied Barnes didn\u2019t notice the change in traffic until it was too late. The result was a rear-end collision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t worry\u2013despite\u2026activities, the crash didn\u2019t result in any serious amputations. Two of the passengers in the SUV sustained minor injuries. And Barnes\u2019 trouble was only beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may be unsurprised that this was far from Barnes\u2019 first run-in with the law. Just the day before, she had been convicted of DUI and driving with a suspended license. Despite the incident, Barnes had decided to tempt fate again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, Barnes and her ex-husband tried to flee the scene of the accident. But they didn\u2019t get far. Desperate to escape another ticket, Barnes somehow convinced her ex-husband to slide into the driver\u2019s seat and take the fall. At this point I\u2019m truly struggling to figure out what\u2019s in it for him. But I digress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the Florida Highway Patrol caught up with the modern Bonnie and Clyde, they found that the man had an airbag injury to his chest. Yet the driver\u2019s side airbag had failed to deploy. (A malfunction that admittedly might have saved Barnes a ton of pain and suffering).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So she came clean and explained what she had been doing. As Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Gary Dunick quipped, \u201cIf I wasn\u2019t there, I wouldn\u2019t have believed it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police didn\u2019t take kindly to Barnes\u2019 obstruction of their investigation. Her actions earned her a fresh set of criminal charges, including a felony hit-and-run and two misdemeanors. But long after the charges are settled, I expect Meghan Mariah Barnes will still be burdened with the nickname, \u201cPubic Enemy Number One.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
