This is an important update regarding Hurricane Milton. We continue to monitor the storm\u2019s track and potential impacts on our area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All PCPS schools and offices will be open during regular hours on Monday, October 7. However, all after-school programs and sports on Monday will be canceled or rescheduled.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

PCPS schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, October 8, Wednesday, October 9, and Thursday, October 10. At this time, no decision has been made about Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All charter and private school parents should check with their schools concerning closures and cancellations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Certain PCPS schools will be activated as shelters, and that information will be posted on Polk County Government\u2019s website and social media as it becomes available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polk County\u2019s Emergency Management Division has activated the Citizen\u2019s Information Line to answer Hurricane Milton-related questions. Call 863-298-7500 or toll-free 866-661-0228. The line will remain open until 7 p.m. Sunday, and it will be open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Information is also available on PGTV (Spectrum 644, Comcast 5 or Frontier 20) and at www.polk-county.net.
