Kanu has been listed as one of 10 finalists for the 2019 Confederation of African Football African Women&#8217;s Player of the Year, as announced per the league office Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/image_handler-2-3.jpg?resize=150%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5090\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kanu is the only collegiate player to be included on the prestigious award ballot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Abia, Nigeria native has netted 39 goals and recorded 17 assists as Southeastern&#8217;s top striker this season. Earlier this month, Kanu became the NAIA All-Time Leader in Career Goals Scored and College Soccer&#8217;s All-Time Leader in Career Goals Scored at a single division. Kanu is now up to 154 career tallies in 76 collegiate matches played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This past Saturday night, Kanu netted a goal in the NAIA Opening Round that helped SEU secure a 3-2 win over Cumberlands (Ky.) and advance to the NAIA Round of 16 at the Final Site in Orange Beach, Ala. for a third-straight season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The list of nominees is compiled by a panel of media and technical professionals.
