Philipson chairs an 11-member board of directors for the Lakeland Senior Hub. The nonprofit seeks to hire an executive director, a part-time program manager, and a part-time facilities manager.<\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cWe have many good programs in our city,\u201d Philipson told Lakeland city commissioners. \u201cThe issue is they are fragmented and you don\u2019t know how to access them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lakeland City Commission agreed to grant $100,000 to help the senior center open, but the center\u2019s organizers must match that to receive the funding.<\/p>\n\n\n
