A household name in consumer electronics has signed a deal in a Lakeland industrial park.<\/p>\n\n\n

LG Electronics<\/strong> has leased 348,740 square feet in Building 400 at Lakeland Commerce Center, a four-building complex on County Line Road about 5 miles south of Interstate 4. The company will use the property as a regional distribution center for its electronics goods and home appliances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JLL Inc. represented both sides of the lease transaction. Bobby Isola and Cameron Montgomery represented Stonemont Financial Group, the property developer. Peter Cecora and Olivia Brock represented LG Electronics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 905,800-square-foot Lakeland Commerce Center wrapped up construction earlier this year and is now 51% leased. Previous leases include Lifting Gear Hire\u2019s 36,420 square feet in Building 200 and an undisclosed tenant\u2019s 75,740-square-foot lease in Building 100.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stonemont said it \u201cremains bullish on Florida as one of the top industrial markets in the country.\u201d The group recently opened a regional office in Tampa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLakeland is a top market for industrial activity in Florida due to its central location, equidistant to Tampa and Orlando and proximity to other major population centers such as Jacksonville,\u201d Avery Dorr, vice president at Stonemont, said in a statement. \u201cAs leasing momentum surges in the area, we are pleased to welcome the LG Electronics distribution center to Lakeland Commerce Center as its team expands its footprint and consumer reach in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to CoStar Group Inc., the second quarter of 2024 was one of the strongest in the Lakeland industrial market in the past decade. Nearly 3 million square feet of industrial space was leased in the first half of 2024, which CoStar says will lower the vacancy rate of warehouse space in Lakeland.
