Florida will lose hundreds of more manufacturing jobs in central Florida as Stryker Sustainability Solutions will eventually close a Lakeland facility and eliminate all jobs by 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n

About Stryker Sustainability Systems: This Company manufactures medical equipment. The company’s website says that it impacts 150<\/a> million patients annually. It has been named one of People’s Companys That Care (in 2023.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Observer has called Stryker a “medical supply giant.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Round Of Layoffs: In late 2021, Stryker announced that more than 500 positions would be eliminated because a Lakeland, Florida facility would close. This was to be a multi-year initiative that was expected to be completed in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in a warn letter<\/a> dated November 14, 2024, the company indicated that it had decided to continue layoffs. The warn letter said that so far, 231 positions had been laid off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Going forward, twelve positions will be eliminated on January 14, 2024, per the letter, and approximately 250<\/a> positions will be lost on a rolling basis by December 31, 2026 – which is the day that is anticipated for facility closure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
