After four grueling days in the pool, Florida Southern College women’s swimming ended the 2019 Spartan Invitational in sixth place with 147 points at the Doyle Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moccasins started the four-day meet in sixth place after the first day, and remained there throughout the week. Wingate finished first with 1,128 points while Tampa (876.5), West Florida (710.5), Indian River State College (548), and Lenoir-Rhyne (173) rounded out the top five. Florida Southern finished ahead of Saint Leo (70), Catawba (40), and Nova Southeastern (26).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, the 200-yard medley relay team of Mallary Meyer<\/a>, Emily Drabick<\/a>, Kimmy Chang<\/a>, and Maria Di Bella<\/a> took ninth with a time of 1:47.38. In Tuesday’s competition, Change and Meyer teamed up with Annalise Eisold<\/a> and Malin Wallen<\/a> to take 12th in the 400-yard medley relay (3:56.33).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another solid relay performance from the team of Tianna Kosek<\/a>, Morgan Misener, Meyer, and Wallen led to a seventh-place showing in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:41.91). The foursome of Di Bella, Eisold, Kyra Fraser<\/a>, and Erin McCann<\/a> took 12th in the same event (7:54.90).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moccasins are off until next month, when they return to the pool for home meets with Emory (Jan. 10) and Nova Southeastern (Jan. 11) before heading to Indian River (Jan. 24).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
