Almost three dozen Republicans joined Democrats to&nbsp;vote against&nbsp;Trump\u2019s sudden demands and the quick fix cobbled together by GOP leaders. The bill fell 174-235, failing to earn even a majority of votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What we\u2019re following today:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What was in the new bill?<\/strong>\u00a0The legislation\u00a0would keep the government running for three more months, include\u00a0disaster assistance\u00a0for hurricane-hit states and allow for more borrowing through January 2027. It omits many provisions from the previous bill that would have, among other things,\u00a0criminalized the creation of pornographic AI images,\u00a0funded pediatric cancer research\u00a0and\u00a0given pay raises to lawmakers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Not all Republicans were happy:<\/strong>\u00a0Trump\u00a0blew up the initial bipartisan spending proposal.
