Fancy Farms Market <\/a>in Lakeland is one of those places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe cold weather really sweetens those strawberries up,\u201d Fancy Farms Market Co-Owner Kristi Barnes said. \u201cIt\u2019s the best time to get them. Right now. Do not wait for the Strawberry Festival.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family-owned produce stand is known for its fresh strawberries and delicious strawberry desserts, like milkshakes and shortcakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople love to come out, sit on the farm,\u201d Grooms Barnes said. \u201cThe market is actually right here on our farm.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors can also grab lunch at the market. Menu items include Cuban sandwiches and shredded pork with strawberry BBQ sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n

This local gem also sells jams made with family recipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barnes explained that her parents have been farming in the area for more than 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy brother and I want to continue that legacy, that farm legacy that my parents have built here,\u201d she said. \u201cWe want to see our farm to continue growing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fancy Farms Market is located at 5204 Drane Field Road in Lakeland and is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
