A massive fire overtook a South Tampa apartment complex just after 3 a.m. on Saturday, leaving one person injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to the two-alarm fire at the Bay Colony Apartments, located in the 5000 block of East Colonial Drive, to find heavy smoke and flames emerging from the second floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firefighters entered the apartment but were soon evacuated as conditions deteriorated. After a sweep of the units to ensure no residents remained, they tackled the flames from the outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photos shared by fire crews show the flames engulfing the two-story building, burning through the roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire crews said nearly 20 units were affected, and one person was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
