Starbucks is expanding its footprint in Polk County with a\nnew store in South Lakeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coffee colossus will anchor a small retail center under\nconstruction on South Florida Avenue in the vicinity of Christina Boulevard,\njust south of Ewell Road. The 11,000-square-foot plaza sits between a Bob Evans\nrestaurant and The Home Depot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starbucks will occupy 2,200 square feet of the retail space.\nIt will follow the company\u2019s basic design, including a drive-through window and\npatio, said Lyle Fogarty, founding partner of Clover Investment Properties in\nTampa, the center\u2019s developer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a typical Starbucks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starbucks did not immediately respond to a request for\ninformation about the future store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passersby have noticed a sign fronting the development that\nmentions Starbucks as a future tenant, which has fueled plenty of interest, Fogarty\nsaid. \u201cPeople call all the time asking how quickly they\u2019re going to open up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coffee shop is scheduled to open this summer, along with\nother retailers yet to be named.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fogarty\u2019s company, which is developing the center in\npartnership with property owner RJS Properties Inc., has suites available\nstarting at 1,200 square feet and up to 8,000 square feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The center is situated in a high-growth corridor with a\npopulation of 104,442 within a 5-mile radius, according to Clover Investment.\nThe average household income is $81,218.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those demographics helped drive Starbucks\u2019 decision to plant\nanother store along busy South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, Fogarty said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
