supermarkets will see overhaul changes in just two weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to sources close to the CEOs, the retail leaders opened up about the devastating potential impacts of tariffs in a&nbsp;closed-door conversation&nbsp;with&nbsp;President Donald Trump&nbsp;,&nbsp;CBS News&nbsp;reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">McMillon and leaders at&nbsp;Target&nbsp;and&nbsp;Home Depot&nbsp;all agreed that the&nbsp;sweeping global fees&nbsp;would create massive supply chain issues and leave shelves barren, sources say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of now, Trump\u2019s administration has imposed a 145% tariff on all Chinese goods and is charging nearly every other country 10% on imports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The president also has a plan to ramp up fees with steep reciprocal tariffs, but those have been paused for 90 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After their meeting with the White House on Monday, the brands thanked Trump for hearing their perspectives on the changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement, Walmart said, \u201cWe had a productive meeting with President Trump and his team and appreciated the opportunity to share our insights.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Target also described the conversation as \u201cproductive\u201d and said, \u201cWe remain committed to delivering value for American consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although the executives didn\u2019t divulge what happened in the meeting room, they\u2019ve been honest about how tariffs can affect the average consumer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Trump was first elected, Walmart CFO John David Rainey admitted that shoppers would pay the extra costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He told&nbsp;CNBC&nbsp;, \u201cThere probably will be cases where prices will go up for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Target\u2019s CEO Brian Cornell also warned that prices of goods from Mexico would surely see a bump in an interview with&nbsp;CNBC&nbsp;last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIf there\u2019s a 25% tariff, those prices will go up,\u201d Cornell said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>TARIFF FEARS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tea, avocados, sneakers, home furniture, bananas, video games, clothes, toys, and foreign-made cars are all expected to become much more expensive under Trump\u2019s trade plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a disturbing comment, billionaire Mark Cuban warned that companies may start charging more even if a product isn\u2019t affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cEven if it\u2019s made in the USA, they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs,\u201d he wrote on BlueSky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Countries are racing to strike a deal with the US before the 90-day reciprocal tariff pause runs out, according to the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trump has insisted that his overhaul plan will bring an economic boon to America, and believes his charges to other countries promote global fairness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Tuesday, he praised negotiation efforts and predicted that the 145% levy on Chinese goods will \u201ccome down
