price increase marks the second phase of a two-part change designed to cut costs for the agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">USPS announced major changes set to begin on July slowed down mail service for some customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Phase Two of the changes, which is expected to begin on July 1 and officially take effect by July 13, customers will start to see prices rise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mailing services will increase by approximately 7.4%, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/about.usps.com\/newsroom\/national-releases\/2025\/0409-usps-recommends-new-prices-for-july-2025.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-Class Forever stamps, along with one-ounce letters, will rise in price from 73 cents to 78 cents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Domestic postcards will rise in price from 56 cents to 62 cents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">International postcards and letters will also rise in price from $1.65 to $1.70.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Customers can purchase stamps at a USPS facility, online, or through retail outlets such as grocery stores, pharmacies, and office supply stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SNAIL MAIL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Changes in the first phase&nbsp;primarily affected how long it would take Americans to receive their mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The majority of customers using first-class mail did not see a significant delay in delivery services, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.the-sun.com\/topic\/usps\/\">USPS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the changes were announced, the agency said 75% of First-Class Mail would retain its current service standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately 14% of First-Class Mail recipients were expected to see an improvement in delivery times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, 11% of customers were told they may experience a delayed delivery time by a day or two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To track delivery times, customers can now use an interactive tool on the USPS website, which displays available mail classes along with the expected delivery dates for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite any potential delays, the agency promised that Americans will still receive their mail within one to five days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Phase One changes, drivers will also be able to leave the facilities earlier to drive longer distances and drop off packages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>USPS Price changes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Letters (1 ounce): 73 cents to 78 cents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Letters (metered 1 ounce): 69 cents to 74 cents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Domestic postcards: 56 cents to 62 cents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International postcards: $1.65 to $1.70<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International letter: $1.65 to $1.70<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The changes are a part of the USPS\u2019s initiative called Delivering for America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ten-year plan aims to enhance USPS service, foster financial stability for the agency, and invest in its infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the USPS website, the agency says its planning on investing $40 billion in its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The billions of dollars will go towards the USPS delivery, processing and retail operations technology systems, equipment, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The service changes being implemented this year are planned to save the agency $36 billion over the next decade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think it\u2019ll be good for the post office,\u201d Jimmy Egan, a resident of Agawam,&nbsp;Massachusetts, 4 miles south of Springfield, told NBC affiliate&nbsp;WWLP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
