Inklings Book Shoppe<\/a>, formerly located downtown, opens this morning in its new location in Dixieland, at 737 S. Missouri Ave., across the street from Hillcrest Coffee<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bookstore\u2019s move is part of\u00a0a burst of activity in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Instagram, the shop\u2019s account said<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re so excited for you to see our new home!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s just under a mile south of its previous incarnation, downtown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Inklings owner Finley Walker said he envisions his bookstore\u2019s new Dixieland location as a place to bring people together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou could argue that books are civilization, right?\u201d he said. \u201cThe ability to preserve ideas, thoughts, and knowledge, the written word, and storytelling in a format that can be passed along. That is civilization. That is culture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. Regular hours will be Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
