A traffic stop on Thursday afternoon in Lakeland led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Winter Haven man after a deputy clocked his vehicle traveling 55 mph over the speed limit.<\/p>\n\n\n

According to the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Deputy Sadler was conducting traffic enforcement on Skyview Drive, a residential street with a 30 mph speed limit, when he observed a red Chevy sedan speeding. At approximately 5:53 p.m., radar confirmed the vehicle\u2019s speed at a staggering 85 mph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deputy initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Leroy Felder Jones, IV. When asked why he thought he was pulled over, Jones reportedly told Deputy Sadler that he could probably guess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jones was arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail. He faces a charge of Dangerous Excessive Speeding.
