DeSantis has defended the statewide action, stating that the legislature recently passed a law that holds, \u201cthere\u2019s no street art allowed.\u201d He noted that the directive applies to any subject, including \u201cBlue Lives Matter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The resolution passed by the Tampa City Council argues that their \u201cCrosswalks to Classrooms\u201d program was previously recognized by the FDOT as a safety enhancement. The resolution calls on the state to \u201crespect local decision-making authority and to allow communities the freedom to express themselves through public art and design.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
