Two Northwest Arkansas educators have faced administrative action after comments made about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Pea Ridge Schools teacher has been placed on administrative leave<\/a> after comments made about the shooting of Kirk at a Utah college campus on Sept. 10<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRecently, social media posts that have caused concern within our community were made by an employee of the district,\u201d Pea Ridge Schools superintendent Keith Martin said in a Sept. 12 statement. \u201cI want to make it clear that the views expressed in the posts do not reflect the views, values, or positions of Pea Ridge School District.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Springdale teacher is \u201cno longer an employee\u201d following posts made about Kirk being shot, confirmed in a Springdale School District statement.<\/p>\n\n\n

Teachers, firefighters, elected officials, and a cable news contributor<\/a>\u00a0have lost jobs or faced investigations over remarks about the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire and police departments in several cities, including Nashville, New Orleans, and Toledo, have launched internal investigations into first responders’ social media posts regarding Kirk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within a day of his death, disciplinary actions were reported nationwide, with school employees in six states placed on leave or investigated for social media posts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In\u00a0South Carolina, a teacher was fired<\/a>\u00a0after writing: \u201cThoughts and prayers to his children, but IMHO America became greater today. There, I said it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Cornelius, Oregon, teacher and city councilor<\/a> drew scrutiny after stating the assassination \u201creally brightened up my day.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fallout extended beyond schools. A public relations staffer<\/a> for the NFL\u2019s Carolina Panthers was fired, according to The Athletic, after posting on Instagram: \u201cWhy are yall sad? Your man said it was worth it,\u201d alongside an image referencing the Wu-Tang Clan song \u201cProtect Ya Neck.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
