Subject: Restructure Polk County Animal Control<\/p>\n\n\n

Dear Commissioners,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am asking you to please remove Animal Control from the Sheriff\u2019s Office and create a civilian-led Department of Animal Services under the County Manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other counties in Florida (Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Orange) have successfully made this change. Polk County deserves the same:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 More transparency and accountability<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 A volunteer program restored and protected<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Humane solutions like TNVR are supported, not punished<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Updated ordinances for breeder licensing and animal welfare<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is about saving lives, building trust with the community, and using taxpayer dollars wisely. Please give Polk County a system that reflects compassion, responsibility, and modern standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
