This kind of environment may pose risks to employees, dogs, and especially cats, whose delicate respiratory systems make them far more sensitive to airborne irritants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many cats entering shelters are already stressed or have fragile immune systems, and exposure to poor air quality can make them more likely to develop respiratory infections or inflammation. Even mild exposure over time can cause discomfort and health complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These animals don\u2019t have a choice \u2014 they can\u2019t ask for fresh air or explain when they\u2019re struggling to breathe.
