Stahl\u00a0bought 560 acres of land south of Lake Hollingsworth. (The price tag for that much land back then?\u00a0Just under $1 million.) He transformed the area into the Cleveland Heights neighborhood, named after his hometown in Ohio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His grand plans for the neighborhood included a golf course, which opened in 1925, but things took a turn for the worse during the Great Depression. Stahl was turning out empty pockets, so the City of Lakeland took over his properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, the golf course is still owned and maintained by the city.
