Avelo Airlines announced plans for two additional aircraft at its Lakeland International Airport base, as well as more flights on its schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n

After\u00a0stabilizing<\/a>\u00a0its finances, Avelo Airlines is now focusing on its long-term strategy, and Lakeland plays a significant role<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lakeland International Airport (LAL) is one of four current bases where Avelo will concentrate its operations this year. The company plans to add two Boeing Next\u2011Generation 737\u2011800 aircraft to LAL\u2019s fleet, as well as 40 local jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does that mean for Lakelanders? Expect more frequent flights to Charlotte\/Concord, NC (another one of Avelo\u2019s bases) and Atlanta, GA by the spring travel season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
