Following a performance by Shen Yun<\/a> Performing Arts, William Burris said he was deeply moved by the show\u2019s spiritual depth. \u201cThough different people may use different names for the Creator, they represent salvation\u2014getting rid of sin and darkness while keeping the old culture alive,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n\n\n

Mr. Burris, a prominent minister, evangelist, and head of The Latter Rain Ministries, attended the opening night of Shen Yun at the RP Funding Center\u2019s Youkey Theatre in Lakeland on Feb. 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was very inspirational and uplifting,\u201d Mr. Burris said. \u201cIt was about \u2026 salvation, and how we need to bring the old culture back into our society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Burris, who reaches a vast audience through his social media platforms, expressed deep admiration for the Shen Yun performers\u2019 dedication. \u201cI was very blessed to see the uniqueness of how well they danced and performed,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was amazing that people could do such great work for us to see and enjoy. It was beautiful.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He observed that the mastery displayed on stage was the result of the artists\u2019 spiritual discipline<\/a>. \u201cIf these performers were not serious about their dance, we wouldn\u2019t have seen the glory that we saw,\u201d Mr. Burris explained. \u201cBut they are so serious about what they do that you cannot deny they have mastered the art. You have to surrender to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in New York, Shen Yun<\/a> is the world\u2019s premier classical Chinese dance<\/a> and music company. Now in its 20th year, Shen Yun is once again touring with eight equally large companies, bringing audiences worldwide exhilarating performances that aim to revive China\u2019s divinely inspired culture<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The songs<\/a> performed during the show touched Mr. Burris personally, reinforcing his belief that a lack of faith leads to societal decay. \u201cBecause we are not in the midst of the Creator, we don\u2019t have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, or self-control,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause of that, bad things are happening.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He spoke candidly about the dangers of atheism and the loss of traditional values. \u201cWhat is seriously going bad is atheism,\u201d he said. \u201cYou see the hate, the anger, and the bitterness coming. Without reviving traditional values, we\u2019re doomed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final piece, which depicts the Creator\u2019s salvation during times of peril, was the most moving moment for Mr. Burris. \u201cThe moment that touched me most was the Creator coming back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEverybody was praising Him and thanking Him,\u201d he continued, referring to the dance portraying the survivors\u2019 gratitude toward the Creator. \u201cWe do have a Creator who can save us in these troubled times. Mankind needs our Creator; without Him, it\u2019s not going to be good.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Burris viewed the performance as a universal message of hope and redemption that transcends specific terminology. \u201cThey represent salvation. They represent getting rid of sin, wickedness, and darkness, and keeping the old culture alive,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He concluded by stating that Shen Yun is clearly \u201cblessed by God,\u201d as the performers<\/a> act as messengers. \u201cThey are representing the Creator,\u201d Mr. Burris said, adding that he believes such work will lead to a spiritual awakening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
