The company confirmed the news in a statement, saying HomeGoods has purchased 175 acres of land in Plant City for the distribution center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HomeGoods is planning to build a nearly 1.2 million square-foot warehouse in Hillsborough County.<\/p>\n\n\n

A spokesperson with the company confirmed the news in a statement to 10 Tampa Bay News on Thursday, saying HomeGoods has purchased 175 acres of land in Plant City for the distribution center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Details are limited at this time, but the company said it expects to begin construction soon, creating jobs for residents of the city and surrounding communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said the distribution center will help service the growing network of HomeGoods stores, as well as those of its sister brand, Homesense. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“HomeGoods is extremely grateful and appreciative of the support provided by the City of Plant City and the Plant City Economic Development Corporation throughout this process,” the company wrote in a statement. “We look forward to becoming part of the greater Plant City community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Introduced in 1992,\u00a0HomeGoods offers an ever-changing mix of merchandise, including furniture, rugs, lighting, soft home, decorative accessories, tabletop, cookware, and much more. More than a dozen stores are currently\u00a0operating throughout the Tampa Bay area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
