The Florida Department of Transportation said this incident serves as an important reminder to properly secure all loads before traveling. Loose materials can create serious conditions for other motorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the morning between 7:30 am and 8:30 a.m., a significant amount of rocks were spilled on SR 37 near Christina in Lakeland, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FDOT Maintenance crews responded quickly and worked to clear the roadway. At the time, traffic was reduced to one southbound lane as the cleanup operations continued.

After cleaning up the spilled rocks, all lanes were reopened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
