Melany is a prominent cast member of <strong><em>The Real Housewives of Pretoria<\/em><\/strong> and appeared on <strong><em>The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: South Africa<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Details of the Arrest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Boca Raton police affidavits, the couple was caught in a six-month &#8220;ticket switching&#8221; scheme at a Publix supermarket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Scheme:<\/strong> Investigators allege the couple scanned lower-priced items (like seasoning packets) at self-checkout while bagging expensive merchandise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Loss:<\/strong> Between August 2025 and March 2026, the pair reportedly failed to pay for <strong>392 items<\/strong> across <strong>52 different transactions<\/strong>, totaling a loss of <strong>$5,302.17<\/strong> for Publix.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Items:<\/strong> The &#8220;survival&#8221; haul included luxury items such as La Marca Prosecco, San Pellegrino sparkling water, and Maison Perrier, alongside household staples like potatoes, eggs, and toilet paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Confession:<\/strong> After being shown surveillance footage, Melany reportedly confessed to the thefts, telling officers she was in <strong>&#8220;survival mode&#8221;<\/strong> because she had been unable to work since moving to the U.S. without a visa.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Current Status<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The couple was booked into the Main Detention Center in West Palm Beach and charged with <strong>aggravated grand retail theft<\/strong> (a felony).
