Fewer kittens born mean that there are fewer kittens that\nare at risk for euthanasia in shelters, becoming prey for other animals, or\nmaturing and mating. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-3.jpg?resize=258%2C344&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6374\" width=\"258\" height=\"344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-3.jpg?w=720&amp;ssl=1 720w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-3.jpg?resize=225%2C300&amp;ssl=1 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Claudia Green, a client at TLC PetSnip, has participated in TNVR for over a year and has seen a drastic change in her neighborhood.\u00a0 She has found that the cats in her neighborhood are happier and healthier since being sterilized and returned outside.\u00a0 Before Claudia and her neighbors began TNVR she saw litter after litter of kittens that became prey for coyotes and birds of prey.\u00a0 Claudia has sterilized 103 cats since August 2018 and helped find the friendlier cats loving homes.\u00a0 She has found that the cats that are sterilized are friendlier, calmer, and live a better life free of fighting.\u00a0 Catfights were once a major issue in her neighborhood because unaltered males fight for territory and mating rights.\u00a0 The females that are involved in this were often kittens themselves and would struggle to deliver and care for litters.\u00a0 When asked why she does this, Claudia said: &#8220;I do this because I believe in it, I think that these cats live better lives because they are spayed and neutered.\u00a0 I find homes for the friendly ones and watch them on my Facebook page, Claudia&#8217;s Kitties, and return the others outside.\u00a0 Our community helps care for the ones outside.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How\ndo you help?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-kitty.jpg?resize=216%2C288&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6373\" width=\"216\" height=\"288\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-kitty.jpg?w=720&amp;ssl=1 720w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/claudia-kitty.jpg?resize=225%2C300&amp;ssl=1 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\ncan make a difference by trapping and sterilizing cats in your neighborhood and\nthen returning them to their outside homes.&nbsp; Once the cat is safely trapped\nthen bring it to a feral friendly veterinarian for sterilization and\nvaccinations. The cat should be kept in the trap for 24 hours after surgery\nbefore being released outside and back into their colony.
