Over 400 people attended the North Lakeland Rally

The “No Kings” movement has certainly seen significant turnout today, March 28, 2026, marking the third major national day of action. While large-scale rallies are expected in metro hubs like Miami and Orlando, the visibility in traditionally conservative areas of Florida has been a notable part of this round.

Across the state, demonstrators have gathered in a variety of settings:

Regional Activity Highlights

  • Southwest Florida: In Fort Myers, thousands of protesters lined U.S. 41 near Daniels Parkway. Similar scenes played out on the Matlacha bridge, with participants ranging from veterans to local residents in costumes (like those from The Handmaid’s Tale).

  • Central Florida: Beyond the large crowd at Orlando City Hall, more than 20 events were organized across the region. This included significant roadside demonstrations in Lakeland, Ocala, and Palm Bay. In Ocala, over a thousand people reportedly lined Silver Springs Boulevard.

  • The Panhandle: Protests were also scheduled in Northwest Florida, including Pensacola and Panama City, areas where such large-scale progressive mobilizations are less common.

  • South Florida: A major focus remains on Palm Beach County, where a “twilight demonstration” is planned for this evening, with a march toward Mar-a-Lago along South Flagler Drive.

Core Themes of the 2026 Rallies

While the movement’s name originally centered on concerns regarding executive overreach, this March 28 mobilization (often called “No Kings 3”) has expanded to address several concurrent issues:

    • Immigration Policies: Protests against ICE operations and recent shootings involving immigration agents.

    • The 2026 Iran War: Significant pushback against “senseless war” and calls for diplomatic solutions.

    • Economic Concerns: Frustrations over the rising cost of living, including gas and food prices.

The decentralized nature of today’s events—with over 3,000 rallies nationwide—has allowed for a strong presence in suburbs and smaller towns that might typically be overlooked in national movements.
