Bloom at BSP! This event has become a standout for Lakeland because it transforms the traditional flower market into a full-scale community creative hub.

By bringing together local makers and floral design, the event highlights the unique “creative ecosystem” growing in the downtown area. Here is a breakdown of what makes this showcase a significant draw for the city:

The “Bloom” Experience

  • Curated Floral Design: Beyond simple bouquets, the event focuses on high-end floral artistry and immersive botanical installations.

  • Creative Market: It serves as a platform for Lakeland’s local artisans—ranging from ceramicists and jewelers to stationery designers—allowing them to showcase work that complements the “Bloom” aesthetic.

  • Hands-On Workshops: One of the biggest draws is the educational component, where attendees can learn specific skills like floral arranging, wreath making, or botanical sketching.

    Why It Matters for Lakeland

This event is a prime example of the “placemaking” happening in Polk County. By utilizing the Bonnet Springs Park (BSP) area, the showcase connects the city’s massive investment in green space with its growing population of young professionals and artists. It’s less of a “stop and shop” and more of an “experience” that encourages people to spend the afternoon engaged with local culture.

    Quick Event Highlights

If you’re looking for a way to support the local economy while picking up a new skill, keeping an eye on the BSP event calendar for these showcases is definitely the move.
