Reports indicate there was a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist and a truck on K-Ville Avenue<\/strong> (State Road 542) in the Auburndale area.<\/p>\n\n\n

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred at the entrance of the Cadence Crossing<\/strong> subdivision.<\/sup> The details of the crash are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The Incident:<\/strong> Both the motorcycle and a Ford F-150 were traveling westbound on K-Ville Avenue. The driver of the truck had slowed to a complete stop and was beginning to turn into the subdivision when the collision occurred.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Cause:<\/strong> Investigators determined that the motorcyclist, a 38-year-old Lakeland man, attempted to pass the truck on the driver’s side at a high rate of speed while the truck was turning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Outcome:<\/strong> The motorcycle struck the truck and tumbled, ejecting the rider. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
