The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) released details regarding that tragic crash on westbound I-4 in Polk City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident occurred just before 6:30 a.m. near mile marker 44 (close to State Road 400).<\/sup> According to investigators, a 47-year-old man from Apopka had parked his Chevy Silverado, which was towing a utility trailer, along the outside paved shoulder of the interstate.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While he was standing outside of his truck on the shoulder, a 50-year-old Orlando man driving a westbound Toyota Camry lost control of his vehicle.<\/sup> The Camry veered off the main lanes onto the shoulder, striking the trailer before crashing directly into the Apopka man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately passed away from his injuries.<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n
